This large pendant was made using thick gauge steel wires but it is not quite a traditional wire wrapped piece, rather something more special.
The Labradorite crystal is held between two halves that are reflections of each other and open at both ends; “As above so below”. You may be familiar with this phrase as a Hermetic principle, that the macrocosm of the universe can be reflected in the microcosm of the smallest things. The beauty of the rainbow Aurora Borealis in the sky can be seen in the small surface of this Labradorite crystal. Is it a coincidence that Labradorite is mined in the wilderness of Canada (the Labrador region) and the northern beauty of Finland and Russia, where the skies are reflected in the stone?
You will notice this piece can look different from different angles (you can even see a slight colour change in our photos) and has a lovely pearly sheen on the surface.
